Speech Title: Little Eyes, Big Decisions: When to Refer to an Ophthalmologist
Biography: She dedicated and passionate ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular surface diseases, with a particular focus on dry eye disease (DED). I completed my medical education at October 6 University graduating with honors and obtained board certification in ophthalmology from Jordan after completion of residency at the royal medical services. I am currently affiliated with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in ophthalmology and hold certification from the Jordanian Board of Ophthalmology. I practice at Shahin Eye Clinic, where I am actively involved in both clinical care and research aimed at advancing the management of complex eye conditions, including dry eye disease. With a keen interest in innovative treatments, I gained expertise in emerging therapies, including Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), along with thermal massage for meibomian, gland dysfunction, a leading cause of DED. I am committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based approaches and currently working on research for that purpose. Additionally, I am a member of Jordan ophthalmology society and regularly participates in workshops and educational events to stay at the forefront of advancements in ophthalmology and ocular surface disease management.
